Over the years, this bank has developed a number of other unique products and services that have quickly established it as a leader. However, with the release of Standard Chartered Breeze, a one-of-a-kind mobile banking platform, even by the bank&#8217;s standards the bar has been raised higher.</p>
<p>This online and mobile banking platform began as a vision. Bank officials realized many years ago that the influx of products being launched was simply missing the mark. Although other products served a purpose, they failed to address not only the high-tech solutions that consumers wanted, but also some of the basic functions needed to manage money online. Working closely with the bank&#8217;s IT department, that vision had life breathed into it and before long an incredible strategy had been devised.</p>
<p>When this service was introduced, some people were skeptical. After all, this service involved entrusting hard-earned money to complete strangers, but also on the internet. For some, they envisioned their money just floating around somewhere in space with no one actually having control over it, let alone them. However, with time people began to realize that not only was this a convenient opportunity, but also a viable means of making more money due to higher interest and lower fees, as well as building stronger relationships between banks and bank customers.</p>
<p>The challenge over the years has been that each time something new appears thousands of companies and financial institutions jump onboard just so they can state in marketing campaigns that they offer a certain product or service online. Unfortunately, an action such as this has created a mess since the majority of offerings were not well researched or planned. As a result, consumers have ended up with one poor quality product or service after another.</p>
<p>In particular, Standard Chartered Bank officials saw that the iPhone was quickly becoming the &#8220;must have&#8221; mobile device with each new release setting the bar even higher. With that, the bank knew that the product through which they wanted their online and mobile banking platform to run was Apple&#8217;s iPhone.</p>
<p>Together, the plan was brought to fruition, resulting in the Standard Chartered Bank solution being pushed out to Singapore and Malaysia for beta testing. It took no time for close to 20,000 downloads to be completed, with all end-users thrilled with the variety, complexity, yet simplicity of features. As a part of the evolution process, the goal was set for India and Hong Kong to be the target for the next rollout, which will soon be followed by international markets.</p>
<p>Apple and Standard Chartered Bank together created even more plans for the Chartered Breeze product, which includes a rollout of the application on Apple&#8217;s iPad in September of 2010. However, bank officials are not stopping there. Plans are also in the works to create an online presence for Breeze specifically on different social media sites such as Facebook, YouTube, and of course, Twitter. The bottom line is that the evolution of Breeze will continue, as consumer demand changes, technology improves, and opportunities are presented.</p>
