Magnetic Sponsoring: Breakthrough Or BUNK?

Jesus exclaimed “A prophet is not welcome in his own land” simply because in your own circle of influence, people have opinions of you as well as a bias about you. Unless you might have been a success in past times, they’ll recall your record of downfalls more clearly than with your track record of successes.

By far the most frightening words almost any brand new ‘network ‘ marketing expert is ever going to hear are, “make a list of one hundred of your close friends, relations, and business connections and connect with these people”. This can be a real “trial by fire” and it can produce results, but there’s an easier means when compared to chasing people who are opinionated about you.

Picture this example: what happens when a dude chases relentlessly after a woman for a night out? She FLEES from him. He scares her off because he’s seen as being desperate. What are the results when a sales man is anxious and pushy to close a sale? The customer feels his desperation and is turned off. The same thing happens when a multi level marketing rep pursues a prospect because he wants to get to the next higher level of the comp plan or because he needs the money: the prospect flees!

Just what might it take to have prospects chase YOU? How would you develop into the “sought after”, instead of the seeker?

You may have had the experience of having something really awesome happen to you when were least expecting it. It’s not unusual to hear about someone who starts getting more attention from the opposite sex as soon as they stop searching looking for a partner–suddenly, dates start coming out of the woodwork! And when a sales person emits an air of indifference or nonchalance about whether you buy his or her product, it can make you desire the merchandise a lot more. Lastly, we’ve all heard about people who conceive a child when they stop attempting so desperately to have a child.

What on earth is this bizarre phenomenon? Why do do we have difficulty obtaining the stuff we would like and the things we try hardest to obtain? One school of thought is that we subconsciously repel the things you want. I want to demonstrate. If you want some thing or circumstance, it’s because you don’t have it. In the end, as soon as you HAVE what you’d like, you would not have to “want” it. Correct?

Here’s yet another way of thinking about it: people only want what we don’t have. If you want more distributors, you’re unconsciously positioning it in your thoughts that you don’t have enough distributors. If you’re convinced that you do not have enough distributors, then you definitely cannot have enough distributors because you’re someone who doesn’t HAVE enough. Maybe we have to change our INNER “circumstances” before we can change the outer circumstances.

The bottom line is you can’t possess two conditions at the same time. You can’t have sufficient and NOT have sufficient–of anything–simultaneously. It is like darkness and light. They can’t both be present in the same place at the same time.

The true secret to building a successful multi-level marketing downline is to do the things that you need to do (phone calls, blogs, enrolling and training activities) and don’t be emotionally attached to the end result. You should not do them simply because you don’t have enough. Engage in your business-building activities simply because they produce a predictable outcome if you do them. If you build your business from a mindset of lack, you’ll attract people who have the same mindset–lack. The principle is “what goes around comes around.”

Concern yourself more with the process than with the end result of your efforts. If you enjoy the process and if you “telegraph” a feeling that you don’t need anyone in particular to join your network, people will wonder what it is you enjoy so much about your MLM business. They’ll choose to link up with with you because you’re having a great time. People like to spend time with people who are having fun!
